Errors on Inspirion 8600

Question

Have a Dell Dimension 4500 desktop and a Inpirion 8600 laptop connected with a wireless router (Linksys) I can not even connect to Dell community forumn for help on the laptop.  It states there is no connection to the internet and will not connect, although I am connected and browsing Yahoo at the same time.  Also, I can not sign into any website that requires a userid and password, like MSN games or Yahoo Music or even my own bank site.  I turned off firewall and this doesnt do any good.  Spent a long time online from someone from India which was no help at all.  ..........ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Have you checked your internet explorer security settings and privacy settings? Make sure they are set to the default level. What about any security software that runs on the laptop - have you tried disabling it temporarily to see if the problem goes away?

Goto this website http://www.dslreports.com/drtcp, click DRTCP021.exe then select your adapter in Adapter Settings and set MTU to 1400.

I sure did and the pop up block is not installed on my laptop.

Try checking the system is Safe Mode with Networking. Try another browser like Opera ( http://www.opera.com/ ) or Mozilla ( http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/ ).   If that also doens't help, then try uninstalling the firewall.   In the worst case if that also fails then it could be that the Operating System is corrupt and a reinstallation might be needed.
