People are reporting banding in A02 anyway, so yes. However the major banding fix is from A00 to A01. A02 just tweaks the blue color setting afaik.

Better send that PM to ChrisM...

Yes, but unfortunately that is unacceptable to me, as the next video card I will be getting will have only DVI ports. PM to ChrisM sent.

All graphics cards (should) come with DVI-VGA converters for every DVI port, so if you're happy with the way your monitor is functioning now you should be able to keep the status quo. I have heard of one or two brands no longer shipping converters; it'll say in the product description/included bits.

My 2007WFP A02 looks fine on DVI, although obviously others will say otherwise.

Yup, using the adapter is an option, but not one I want to entertain. I don't want to pay $350 for a monitor, then $300 for a graphics card, and then need to convert its high-quality digital signal into an analog one. DVI gives greater clarity and clearness, and I need that for the things I will be doing with this monitor.

These links might shed a bit more light:

A00 Initial release
A01 In Desktop Mode only, switched off the Faroudja video processing which causes the banding
A02 Color tweaking in the Service Menu (don't ask, I don't know the details)
