I'm now waiting for my 2nd replacement 2407, according to the dell support the problems should be fixed with monitors shipped in july. I've so far had both A01 and A02.
I hope its fixed but much like you im very doubtful. .
yeh my current one with issues is an A02 Made in China , Manufactur Date: June 06
so maybe i need a July one? maybe this fixes most things, anyhow i am most interested in composite + component input fixes, 1080p support, pixel flicker fix, horizontal balance fix.
Make sure there are no screws protruding from either of the LCD feet, mine had a balance issue i thought my desk wasn't level but I turned the monitor over to look at the feet and there was a tiny screw protruding, took the screw out and it sat perfectly level.
How would one test out the bit depth of this panel?
I have a 2405 and I love it, and when I decided to go dual monitors I went with Dell due to their previous success with the 2405 panel and ordered a 2407. Nothing but problems since, but what would I see, what test would I run to show that the 2407 is only capable of displaying 6bit rather than 8bit. Remember I have both the 2405 and the 2407 so running such a test I should be able to see the difference, correct?
I don't understand what the point would be in driving a 8bit panel 6bit+2bit dither over DVI, it would make sence and explain allot problems but why would they do this ?
Ok after it took them a week to get the "next business day replacement" LCD to me it still has all the identical faults as my original (not suprising i know).
Also i was specifically assured by dell my LCD would be a brand new one, and i got a refurbished one with marks and scratches all over the LCD and on the screen also....
So now they wanna send me a 3rd! one as maybe the replacement had issues.... lol i think it clear now every 2407 is identical and has all the same faults! wake up and revise the thing permanently! or give everyones money back.
