Call them up, politly demand a new, not refurbished monitor.  This has been happening more often now with these replacements.

Call tech support and have your order number or customer number handy

1 800 624-9897  You will have to play the Dell phone game by being transferred more than likely, but have patients and be firm

Moderators post on this very subject  " If you purchased a standalone monitor, you only have an Order number. In this case you must call Dell to inititate the Monitor Exchange. Provide the monitor order number, shipping address, and the monitor serial number (it looks like XX-OHF730-46634-652-2N GL) ".

Same problem here, GRR!

Do the colour profiles on your new monitor look quite a bit different to your old one? I've got new and old side by side and I can't get them matching up! *angry*

How can you tell if it's refurbished or not? I'm curious because I didn't pay much attention when I opened my replacement... and if it's refurbished I'm going to be annoyed.

Well on the box it will say REFURBISHED. And in my case there was some scratches and the wire had white paint on it :)

Well, I don't remember it saying "REFERBISHED" on the box, but I did notice a white paint looking mark on the VGA cable. Oh well, the monitor is in perfect shape so I guess it doesn't matter. I'm very happy with it now that there is no banding.
