err every trouble shooting thing as in... reinstalling latest video drivers, chipset drivers, flashing bios, selective startup, running on adapter, testing it on 1 min, 10 min, 1 hour, and 2 hours, and in the end reformatting/restoring windows. So now I'm to the point of switching the hardware..
Did you try closing the lid and reopening it? I currently have this problem and that is the only way to get it back on. Dell has had me do every single trouble shooting tip including a magnet over the palmrest/touchpad. Also try doing that.. move a magnet (not too strong! just a regular one) over the entire area where your wrists rest and the touchpad and see if it turns on. Mine doesn't and I'm about to take apart the laptop to replace the palmrest/keyboard/touchpad to see if that helps. If it does.. I'll let you know :p
Well, the idea of closing/opening the lid of the computer occurred to me, but I couldn't really test it at the time because closing my computer also causes it to hibernate. :P I'll switch the setting and try that though.
