I can look at my D610 when I get home (am on D600 now). I seem to remember a power setting dealing with the wireless card that keeps the card powered off when on battery. I changed mine to ON for all power modes (which IMHO should be the default). I mean, isn't the whole idea of wireless to enable "portable" operation. :smileytongue:

I just checked my D610. It is under the Dell QuickSet utility. Choose Internal Network Card, there is then a choice for:
-> Always deactivate on battery
-> Always active on battery
Setting it to "always active" cured everything for me.
