Recieved 2ND A02 and still experincing color banding

Question

Am I being too picky? Honestly the last two A02 that have been sent to me look exactly like my original A00 as far as color banding, ZERO improvement. The A02's have sharper text but whats up with the banding? Am I getting duds or is this just as good as its going to get? I really appreciate Dell's efforts to correct the problem but we are just going in circles at this point if theres nothing that can be done and it is what it is.   I will post some photos of the second A02 later tonight of the color banding, if anyone has a display without color banding I would like to see some pictures to compare.   Thanks.

You're sure it's A02?  Does it say that on the label in the back?  Sorry to hear this!

The back of the monitor says A02 Mexico. I tried all 3 image modes, they are all the same aside from some slight brightness/contrast differences. I am using a 6800GT through DVI in 32bit color mode. Here are some pics from the latest replacement:

So, am I just being too picky or am I somehow getting A02's without the new firmware?

I suggest  setting the color correction of your video card to default.  Make sure there is no gamma.  Any gamma adjustment causes banding. Message Edited by butlerbob on 07-04-200611:55 AM

Its a mystery.  I have the same setup, 2 Nvidea 6800 SLI.  My first 2407 was A00 with banding.  The second a A02 from Mexico has no horizontal gradient banding.  Sorry, the only suggestion I have is try another one.

What model monitor is this....2407....2007?  I'd definitely say no, you're not being picky.  It shouldn't be like that.
