Has anyone else heard of a problem like this with speed step?? That is, where it keeps your processor running too slow so your system runs jerky. I'm wondering if anyone else had a similar issue with the a28 bios.
I installed a29 last night, but I am yet to test it out.

hmm, well I do believe that once you've installed any of the A2x version bioses then you cannot downgrade back to an A0x version.
as for bypassing speedstep, you could try setting your power scheme in control panel to desktop or always on.

tell me the model of the computer what type of inspiron is that.
ill check on other bios version that might be able to help you with this problem, i test other bios for my other inspirons, i will reply asap

It's an Inspiron 5150 with a P4 3.06.
