Inspiron B130 Won't Standby

Question

Hello, I recently re-installed Windows XP, now Standby is not an option on the 'Turn Off Computer' menu (it is greyed out). I have installed all the drivers the 'Dell Resource CD' that is says I need, Quickset... etc. Wow. This is frustrating. Thanks 8~) Shaun

Thanks! But not I dont know what to do now. I have yellow !'s for both video controllers, as in the driver is not installed. I installed all of the drivers it(the Dell CD) told me to! (Unless it's wrong...)

Any more ideas? Where would i get these drivers?

Try going here:   http://support.euro.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=uk&cs=ukdhs1&l=en&s=dhs&releaseid=R112732&SystemID=INSPIRON1300/B130&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=3526&devlib=0&typecnt=1&vercnt=2&formatcnt=1&libid=6&fileid=147598   for the driver for your integrated Intel video controller.  That should fix the Standby problem, too.....

Be sure to check device manager for any devices that are not installed properly such as devices with any question marks ,exclamation marks or red X's) windows will not allow the option to stand by or hibernate if there is a conflict in device manager. Since you reinstalled there might be a driver thats not installed correctly. Hope this helps.
