Might be because you have the monitor res. set kinda low, really should be at 1920x1200. Also you might try changing the cleartype settings. You can do that here;

Thank you for the response. Currently i'm using gf 6600 with 1280x1024 resolution at 60hz.

I'll give that a try.

well reinstalled windows that seems to have fixed it, not sure what was changed.

i read somewhere there were bugs with cleartype fonts and ie7 beta, i imagine that was it
