What minutes?  Are you confusing Wi-Fi wireless networking with wireless broadband offered by mobile phone operators using GPRS or 3G technologies?

no on cruise ships you can bring your own laptop and buy internet time to use on that instead of one of their computers. those were the minutes i was referring to.

Oh I see....

As long as they are using Wi-Fi wireless networks conforming to 802.11b or 802.11g standards, you should be fine.

thats what im hoping. i just ordered a laptop from the outlet with the following specs(as well as some additional software):

inspiron 1300/B13
Celeron M 1600 1.6 ghz/400mhz FSB/1m l2 cache
xp home
512 ddr2 sdram 533mhz(1 DIMM)
24x cd rw/dvd drive
1370 wireless card

i recently bought and xps desktop so i dont need a lot for the laptop mostly to do my schoolwork one and some basic internet browsing(taking college internet courses). do you know or in your opinion will that work well enough? its hard to ask questions about the outlet products and get an answer in time. just wondering how much ill have to spend upgrading. the system was 570 with shipping and tax. is that a bad deal? thanks for all your help!
