Thanks,

I doubt it is faked. More likely that Dell might choose to obscure the panel type now that everyone is on to the panel switching games they play. Now they use a code instead of a panel model. This means some intrepid soul will have to take it apart to find out for sure what is inside.

I would still like more comfirmation though.

I was thinking more about dell getting out of the LCD market. There is no way they are going to show dell computers sitting there with the most prominant logo, the one on the monitor being from some other company. So the most that may happen, is dell will stop having monitors built to order and will instead buy whole monitors that already exist an slap their name on it. Getting out of the monitor engineering altogether and just buying the whole thing. Witnessing the 2007fp,2007wfp, 2407wfp problems. This is probably a good thing.

What do you think happens to all those monitors sent back for a reflash of the firmware. Do you honestly believe they are all sold as refurb? If you look at the A03 sticker, it is clearly an add on covering up the original version.

But this would imply the panel hasn't changed. Just the firmware.

I'm having the exact same issue that dctokyo is (freezing), though it hasn't hit me during any web pages just during games (even relatively low powered ones) and only since I got my 2407 this last week.

Even going back to my former 19" monitor, it's not doing it. Power is not an issue (550W Antec SLI Neo HE to my 6800GT). The same video card was working for months on my 19" Sony FP at 1280 x 1024 with all settings on high for BF2, for example.

Now I put the old 19" Sony back in place of the Dell and it's doing it there, too. At first I was suspecting the video card went bad or something, but now I'm starting to wonder if it's a driver issue or something... This only started since I got this 2407, though.

I haven't noticed any banding or any weird issues yet, though haven't deliberately looked for it yet. Except for the freezing issue in games, this display seems quite wonderful at 1920 x 1200 for my desktop.

One thing that caught my attentionw as that I did try the VGA output from my 6800GT to the 2407 and it was all green shifted. I couldn't adjust it readily from the OSD, though...

If A03 is only a firmware reflash, it would be unlikely that the components input problem is resolved.
It would be a good start if the 1600*1200 fixed scaling and the vertical banding issues have been fixed.
I have just requested a unit replacement (backlight leakage...) but I would be surpised if it is a A03 revision since I live in Canada.

A03 owners please post your results!

Hi Uxi,

What country do you live in? Does your display say A03 on the back anywhere?

Horizontal banding looks ok, although it does seem more visible than what's on my 2007WFP (Could be some effect from the camera as well). Vertical though I agree does look unfixed.
I think the fact that horizonal/vertical appear different (to me) is enough to say nothing has changed in regards to that problem anyway.
