My 2407 just arrived on Friday, and I was expecting to get an A03 with many of the issue resolved. Instead I got an A02 To bad, I so wanted a monitor that's features worked as advertised. I will be returning it next week .
Its like the sexiest supermodel you have ever seen, you drool and lust over her.
You decide that you cant live without her and get the courage to take her home and she goes willingly.
Then your in for the surprise of your life as she takes her clothes off and makeup.
NOOOO ITS THE MOST UBER UGLY MAN YOU HAVE EVER SEEN IN YOUR LIFE AND ALMOST DIE FROM SHOCK as you was expecting a gorgeous girl to be there :(
Then if you live in australia, you have to pay dell $26 to make this hermaphrodite THING go away....
I give up on Dell products, this a03 thing was the final straw for me id say, not even any word about a possibility of getting the issues fixed with the 2407/2007wfp.
You should not be selling these lcd's Dell...... u bad :@
I had heard good things about the Dell 24' monitors and so I ordered one for use with my new Mac Pro. Then I entered into this forum! It sounds like all the warts of this monitor will show up for me, as I'll be hooking up with DVI on the Mac. I checked and it's already shipped yesterday. I guess I should have done my homework a little better before ordering. So my question is, should I cut my losses and return without opening? I will not receive the Mac Pro for another 4 weeks as I've upgraded the video card and they are back ordered. Do I just pay return shipping if I return unopened? I'm bummed, because at $800 USD shipped it's a nice price, but I do a lot of photography work and don't want to deal with an unsatisfactory monitor. And it's an ATI card I upgraded to, so that sounds like a problem too, from what I've read here. Thanks in advance for any replies, you guys are on top of this stuff!
You can open it, and see if you got lucky, and obtained a good monitor. Than, if you see banding or other glitchs, send it back within the return policy period for a refund on a defective monitor....
Waited to see if the new revs fixed all of the issues...
This LCD isn't going to get fixed for a while it seems, so gonna return it, get my full refund and stand at the sidelines to see if I should just buy a new Sony LCD or another *fixed* Dell.
Hah... "rev A03 only fixed the language in the OSD"... funny.
hey keith, i live in australia and we usually get stuff later than most of the rest of the world, shops here are showing prices and pictures of the product on their sites, however i dont think any have the stock yet but id say it wont be too long b4 they hit the shelves, i myself will be finding out for sure when i can get one on monday as i search for a new lcd monitor
yea, my A02 2407 has horizontal banding when i run checkemon.
called dell for a replacement, hopefully, it will be better...if its not, i guess i'll just live with the one i have right now as its not TOO bad. i'm just sick and tired of all this hassle, seriously, if dells weren't cheap....dell would totally be out of business by now.
How could this be when several folks report the banding issue be fixed?
* Maybe they are satisfied with Desktop Mode. If you just use the monitor in daily applications, some users are happy with it.
just out of interest, coz i know of many people interested about this, and i know ive been a bit lively on the forum here but could you possibly find out when the 2707wfp (i assume its called) 27" wide may be released and any details about it including a picture ?
The only changes made to the 2407WFP A03 were language fixes in the OSD (On Screen Display).
Sorry Chris, but I don't believe your being completely honest. Your aware of all the issues with A02 and told the powers that be about all the unhappy folks in the forums. And I bet that you were told to say their was nothing significant in the A03 update, so that Dell does not have to exchange all the A02’s.
With all the issues with A02 I find it hard to believe that Dell would release an update without any of the real issues corrected, why bother? We have seen pretty compelling evidence that the banding issue is all but gone in A03. Yet you say the updates are only related to language fixes.
