Sorry, I thought Dell would offer X1600. Well, this time I double checked and Dell sells X1800 with their XPS notebooks.
Did anyone try to upgrade to that? It still installs into Dell's Intel 945i chipset, but I was wondering if anyone has it and if there is a noticeable increase in performance.
The XPS uses a different chassis and a different design of card. Unless you see Dell offer another card in the 6400/E1505, you won't be able to upgrade. The BIOS has to be rewritten and the card has to fit the chassis.

As far as I know, since Dell does not offer the x1600, this isn't possible.
