I know this is really late to respond, but I work with a state agency for county library systems and court offices, and I cant tell you enough how great the Ultrasharp 1707FP is. Personally I have installed hundreds of them and never had a problem yet. In fact, I'm using one right now. Stylewise, it looks great with my Optiplex 210L. Feature wise, no one can say a DVI connection isnt the best thing ever. Text looks great and graphics look great. While I dont play any computer games, some of the librarys I installed the monitors at do use these monitors in dense graphic applications, including Fragfests and LAN parties. The key to exceptional graphics is not only a good monitor ( like the 1707FP ) but also a strong graphics card, as well as a DVI connection.
