Thats the first time I heard that. Why does it have to be done that way?? The computer seams to be running ok without this pci device anyway so im not too worryed about it.
My original problem has been sorted out. I replaced the IDE to USB cable and everythings ok now. No mad random cursor movements anymore.
I am having a similar problem with the touchpad. It's definitly a software issue, not a physical problem with the pad itself. Other than that I don't know where to begin. Any ideas?

Some of the internal devices will not be correctly identified until the chipset drivers are installed.
The Notebook System Software installs certain updated drivers, like USB that are required before other drivers will install properly.
These two drivers should be installed first, with other drivers (video, audio, etc.) installed afterwards.
