Have you tried power cycling your router?  Do you have any security settings enabled on the router?   If so, try temporarily disabling the security to see if that is what is causing the problem.  Otherwise, to help troubleshoot this problem, go to Start > Run and type cmd then click OK. In the command prompt window that opens, type ipconfig /all then hit the enter key. Write down the output from this command or select it and save it to a txt file, then copy this output into a reply to this message.

I had the similar problem, if not the same. I got my notebook to connect today! I had reformatted mine and the wifi shows connected. However IE showed nothing. Try this out:

In command mode, run ipconfig/all. Compare the ip addresses from the Ethernet LAN and Ethernet Wireless. If the starting 3 digits of the IP address are not the same, then there is something wrong with the wireless modem transmission. If this is the case, then use the following solution:
1)Go to Network Connections -> Right click on Wireless Connection-> Select TCP/IP -> Click on Properties ->Select "Use the following IP address". Enter the Ethernet LAN values from the results of ipconfig/all (not the Ethernet Wireless).->Select "Use the following DNS Server".Once more enter the values from ipconfig/all.Press OK.
2)In Network Connections, disable the Ethernet LAN.
3)The Wifi should reconnect automatically.Otherwise make sure it is connected once this is done
4)Try opening IE.If it works, good.

There is more to be done though coz we are using the IP address normaly used by Ethernet LAN.What I've done is found the range of IPs used by the router and used that IP in my wireless properties.I am not sure if this is the right way, but here in the MiddleEast it is weekend and my call to Siemens (router) were unanswered.

Hope this works out. Peace!!
