Unisys,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.
I had to verify this with Dell engineering to make sure it was correct.
Dell engineering states the 95W adapter should work fine with just the system, and that it even charges the battery a little faster then the 65W adapter.

I am having the same problem with my D600 D/Port...when I plug in the  65WATT AC adapter to the docking station the PC will not boot up. It states the following message..."there is not enough power to operate" and it ask for a higher watt adapter to boot up. Now I cannot run these laptops without using the docking stations with them b/c the users I support request the docking stations. What solutions can you offer?

When the D600 is docked you will need the 95 watt AC adapter connected to the docking station; the 65 watt AC adapter does not supply enough power for both the D600 and Dock.

The 95 watt adapter is slightly larger than the 65 watt adapter.  Check that you have received two AC adapters.  The systems we receive have the 65 watt adatper in the carton with the accessories such as, FDD, CD's, cables, etc.  The 95 watt adapter is stowed in the with box the docking station.

Hope this helps.
