i have a similar problem. but with mine, the green light is still on but the screen goes black. a temporary fix was turning off the monitor and turning it back on. which sometimes fixes it for a few minutes or a few seconds. no rhyme or reason on why it turns off and when it would happen. still looking for a solution myself.

* Disconnect it from the PC
* Power it on. What appears? Does it turn off?
