Does the Dell UltraSharp™ 2007WFP 20.1' supporst HDCP?

Hi all, I regularly shop on www.overclockers.co.uk. Recently they put up the Dell UltraSharp™ 2007WFP 20.1' Widescreen LCD for just over £300. In their description they state the following:   - 1680 x 1050 Optimum Resolution - 16.7 Million Colours- 800:1 Contrast Ratio - 16ms Response Time - 300 cd/m2 Brightness- One DVI-D Input w/HDCP Support- One Analogue Input- One S-Video Input- One Composite Input- Height adjustable stand (100mm travel) - VESA mounting compatible / Security slot : Yes (100mm) / Yes - Integrated powered USB 2.0 hub : 4 downstream / 1 upstream ports This is almost exactly the same as the Dell description:   Monitor size and type : 20.1' Flat Panel Display / Active Matrix TFT - Desktop Resolution : 1680 x 1050 Pixels Response time / Brightness / Contrast Ratio : 16ms / 300 cd/m² / 800:1 Dimensions (WxDxH) : With Stand: 472.7mm x 177.7mm x 332mm to 513mm Weight : 6.5 Kg  Features : 100mm VESA® Mounting, Antiglare with Hard-coating 3H, Includes Height Adjustable Stand Port(s) Total ( Free ) / Connector Type : 15-pin D-Sub / DVI-D / S-Video /Composite Connectors Dot Pitch : 0.258 mm (Pixel Pitch) Compatibility : PC Except the Overclockers description states that this monitor also supports HDCP. It was my understanding (reading reviews on HDCP) that in order to view HDCP content the monitor would need to display in 1680x1080 not 1680x1050. Can someone please clarify this? does this monitor acutally support HDCP (if it does, why doesn't Dell advertise it as it's important 'future proof' info). Cheers chaps

Regarding HDCP, the output would have to be downsampled to 720p I guess, then use the monitor's 'Fill' option, although this will distort to 16:10.

2007WFP and a HDMI HD signal, a couple of posts before yours is trying to get a signal from an HDCP DVR.

I don't think too many people have actuallly tried it - most seem to go for the higher resolution of the 2407WFP, so I wouldn't guarantee the results.
