Two versions...With all the information except the question on problems.  Only heard of the WFP having problems thus far, but could be wrong

Just read on this board all the posts on the 2007 WFP monitor, and get a general idea of banding, light leakage, and the like.  Link below will show you some information, but read the next few pages of this monitor board.....

The have the exact same problems. In fact the 2007fp was where the banding was first reported. They use the same dell electronics/firmware to drive the panels. So exactly the same problems. I briefly owned a Dell 2007fp A00 with significant banding/blurring.

One additional problem. The 2007fp is subject to the infamous "DELL Panel Lottery". Where dell puts two differnt panels in there. Panel A: A nice LG S-IPS panel like in the 2007wfp. Panel B: A very poor PVA panel with hideous viewing angles. They wont tell you which panel you will get and it looks like there are mostly choice B these days. Have fun playing the lotto with your purchase money.

Thanks for those replies.  What I meant to ask regarding the 'differences' between the FP & FPW was what the differences are visually between them -- i.e., how the FP display looks different from the FPW's display.

I thought the banding issues had been resolved.  Not?

Not sure what you are asking. Cosmetically the exterior is the same. The differences are:

A: They are different aspect ratios, sizes. The FP is like TV2, the WFP is like TV3:

B: The FP will most likely will come with a junky PVA panel that has terrible viewing angles. The WFP will most likely come with a good S-IPS panel with very good viewing angles.

Everything else is similar, they both had the same banding problems, which were resolved at the same time.
