I would suggest that you try asking DLink.

How about a little more info about your system? Are you sure it does not already have a wireless card?

I have asked DLink and they are unable to solve the problem. They tell me that it is a Dell issue, and Dell supports response was that they have no record of me buying the DLink device and I need to provide a receipt. Since I did not buy the Dlink from Dell (I owned it before the purchase of the laptop) they appear unwilling to help me. I do not have a built in wireless card on this computer. My built in card is a Broadcom 440X integrated controller. I have tried disabling it and installing my drivers but it made no difference. Same thing. I then manually installed a Network Adapter, and I got the driver to load, and thought I was home free, but still does not work. It shows "D-link Airplus G DWL-G122 Wireless USB Adapter" but it has an exclamation mark on it, and when I expand on it it says "This Device cannot start (Code 10)" The wireless USB when plugged in does not identify as Dlink, but as "Marvell Wireless Device V1.0.1.2", and it says "This device is not configured correctly (Code 1)" If I click to install ther driver and then it can not find the driver, if I manually point to the driver, it says it can not find the correct driver. I am just going around in circles!!! I hace tried the DLink drivers fromt he website as well as the drivers on the CD which came with it and no go. The device works on both of my tower computers, just the laptop has this problem.

Could you give us a hand in helping you, what kind of system is the portable, what operating system are you running(XP, Vista). It would help me if you would put your service tag into your profile.(please don't post it in the thread).
