Once I found the mac address I was able to find the ip address which is what I needed to get into the web gui.  I then changed the default host name to something familiar, however when I check my clients in my router I see the mac address, ip address, but the host name is still blank.  Dont suppose you would know why the host name is not appearing?  Could this be because it is wired the router and not just connecting wirelessly?

What is the model number?  I only use these in a Domain Setting so I may be coming at this from a different point of view.

This printer connects wirelessly?

Again, I use a print server and connect thru NetBios name with a fixed IP Address.

I think it may be capable of connecting wirelessly, but I have not tried that, for I have not needed it to.  I have it wired for I need Desktops to print to it.

Do you know if you setup a wireless printer without ethernet connection, do you also have to setup encryption if you are on a wireless network with encryption.  This is for another network I was thinking about setting up.  I found a hp printer that said it could do wpa but not wpa2.

Any Encryption setting would be for allowance into the network.  Any objects such as printers that are accessable by "Everyone" can be used.

The printer should be hard wired to a switch/router which would be inside the perimeter of any access point.
