I just moved into an apartment that has free wireless internet and they gave me the password to access it. When I click connect, it prompts me for the password/network key and I type it in. Then I get an error "the network password needs to be 40bits or 104bits depending on your network configuration. This can be entered as 5 or 13 ascii characters or 10 or 26 hexadecimal characters." I don't understand this because other people in the building can access the wireless with the password they gave me. Help?
Thanks!
did you type it correctly? There are many types of security and how they use it. Ask them what kind of security they used. WEP? WPA?
I'm with Kwopau
Maybe you can ask other people what they type in
Maybe they gave you wrong passowrd
40-104 means a certain amount of numbers/letters/symbols to a certain amount of numbers/letters
/symbols So does 5-13 and 10-26
