Heh, I wanted to know a lot more than that about it!

Like is it still S-IPS? [probably]

Is there a perceivable difference between the 72% Gamut of the old one and the 92% of the new one? [subjective]

Is there a built in scaler?[nope]

Does it have mutliple inputs? [nope]

Are its response times (G2G, on/off etc) any better? [marginally]

and of course the real question, When is it going to be available???

HA, I was implying that someone could do a little work and compare the two models side-by-side using the manuals.  I was happy when I found them using a google site search of dell while trying to find the product page for this new monster.  All we need now is the Service Manual and we will know it all.

Yes, it still has the same 178deg viewing angle, I don't know if it uses S-IPS tech to accomplish it or not.

We should notice more accurate color and hopefully the back lighting will be consistent.  I am only holding out for the new model because I work in Photoshop, but I would like to see the models side-by-side.

Why do you want a built-in scaler?  Your video card should be scaling and outputting at the native res of 2560x1600.  Maybe it's because you wanted the extra inputs.  I am leaving a Sharp AQUOS 26" LCD and it's nice having all of the inputs, but then you need the scaler, etc.  It's too bad that 1080p LCD TVs do not allow computer input at native res, but this is better anyway.  I love the large screen size but I NEED more pixels!

I doubt that many will see the response time difference, my Sharp AQUOS is 16 ms and it's not a problem.
