Funny thing is, all the 2405 owners are enjoying their xbox 360 games in UNSTRETCHED 1080p via both component and VGA, with no problems. GOOD JOB DELL!

Are you sure about this. They are getting 1080p even through the component? If this is true i'd love to pick one up from eBay or Craigslist.

News to me :)

I'm really dissappointed with what I've read. I did plan to buy the 2407 to use with my 360. I planned doing 1080p with the VGA. But a slightly stretched image to fit the 16:10 ratio would drive me insane. Adding to this it won't do 1080p throught Component either; which isn't a major bother, but it would have been nice as an option.

So I won't be buying the Dell 24" 2407, because it doesn't do the 1:1 pixel aspect option with 1920x1080 throught VGA and doesn't support 1080p through Component. If those minor problems would be fixed I'd buy one.

Thanks for all the advice on this forum. You've saved me quite a bit of money, until the problems are corrected.

Is there any more news on fixing the 2407WFP to show 1920x1080 1:1? This is a serious problem and has me considering shipping back a new 2407 unless I can have some hope of getting this resolved.

hi guys,

well i bought the Dell 2407 in combination with a xbox 360 premium, as a christmas present for myself. I was really scared after reading all the comments on the issue with the xbox 360, but for me its ok. There are things that are much worser... like the wandering horizontal line in Pro Evolution Soccer 6 (PC Version), i only have this line in the pc version.

I have a A03 (Czech Republic) and have my xbox connected via VGA. I´m playing pc and video games for years now and i really find the gfx on the xbox quite amazing.

I have also a Issue with the PAL50 / PAL60 problems, that means that i cannot play games like Top Spin 2 via VGA, for that i have to switch to Component.

When there is a horizontal moving, you can see that horizontal line, it looks like the line which i also have on my 3 years old Toshiba Notebook and the Display is too slow for running fast movement games. I turned down the brightness, so it helped a little bit. What are the next steps? Sharpness?

I´m also working and surfing on my pc which is also connected to the TFT via DVI.

Well, the stretching in 1080p is ok for me, i can live with that, but not with those horizontal line which is wandering from the top to the bottom, its really annoying. Any suggestions?

Im trying to understand what this horizontal line is that you describe. You say, its only visible when the picture moves horizontally? The picture seems to tear apart a little bit, and come back together when you stop horizontal movement?

This could actually be the game you are playing. I know Saint's Row, and Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter for example, both suffer from tearing, or lack of vertical sync.

Try some other games and see if that helps. Also try switching to the xbox 360 input, then turning the monitor off, then back on, and see if it goes away.

My 2407 displays 1080p 1:1.  I'm using the Elite system via VGA.
