OK...progress! That finally killed Vundo. Now to remove the Smitfraud vermin.
You should print out these instructions, or copy them to a NotePad file for reading while in Safe Mode, because you will not be able to connect to the Internet to read from this site.
I am going to give you two sets of instructions...both relating to the Smitfraud infection that you have. The first set of instructions will cause the application to find the bad files. The second set will allow the application to delete the bad files it found.
With each set there is a log generated. It is important that you remember to post both logs in your next reply. You must perform these steps exactly as presented and cannot skip a step. The application will delete nothing unless you first allow it to find the bad files...which is why you must follow these instructions exactly as presented:
Set #1
Please download:
SmitfraudFix (by

Extract the content (a folder named
SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.
Open the
SmitfraudFix folder and double-click
smitfraudfix.cmd Select option #1 -
Search by typing
1 and press"
Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present). Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.
Note :
process.exe
is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.
Once in Safe Mode, open the
SmitfraudFix folder again and double-click
smitfraudfix.cmd Select option #2 -
Clean by typing
2 and press"
Enter" to delete infected files.
You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing
Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.
The tool will now check if
wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing
Y and press "Enter".
The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process; if it doesn't, please restart it into your Normal Windows user mode.
A text file will appear onscreen, with results from the cleaning process; please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.
The report can also be found at the root of the system drive, usually at
C:\rapport.txt
Warning : running option #2 on a non infected computer will remove your Desktop background.

ok, i followed the instructions but after smitfraudfix cleaned the files it didn't ask me to clean the registry or wininet.dll. The rapport.txt just came up and i was back the main menu of smitfraudfix. I then restarted my comp in normal mode. Here is the 1st rapport.txt.

CWShredder.
Launch the executable, accept the agreement, and then click "
Check for Update"
Download and install any updates.
Now, close any open windows except for CWShredder and then click "
Fix"
You'll see three lines starting with "Restoring" to let you know the scan is finished (It should take about a minute to run), then click "
Next"
Please
reboot the computer.
Open your on board AVG Anti-Spyware and run a manual update.
DO NOT SCAN YET.
Now...let's get rid of that stubborn Vundo trojan.
Print out these instructions as we will need to shutdown every open window later in the fix.
Please download Process Explorer by Systernals and extract it to your desktop. Do not run this now as we will use it later.
Download KillBox and extract it to your desktop. Do not run this now as we will
use it later.
Click
Here to download FixVundo.reg to your Desktop. Do not run this now as we will use it later.
Reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You do that when you restart your computer by tapping on the F8 key repeatedly as soon as you see the first black screen. Continue tapping on the F8 key until you see the advance log on menu. When the menu appears, select "safe Mode" (Note-if tapping on the F8 key does not bring up the advance log on menu then try the reboot again only this time begin tapping on the F5 key and follow the instructions as outlined above.)
Double-click on procexp.exe which is the Process Explorer that
we downloaded earlier.
In the top section of the Process Explorer screen double-click on
winlogon.exe to bring up the winlogon.exe properties screen. Click on the Threads tab at the top.
Once you see this screen click on each instance of awvtt.dll found and click on the kill button. If you see any files listed that are the same name but end with .bak or .ini or are the name in reverse, you can kill those as well. (it would look like this: ttvwa.dll)
After you have killed all of the instances of the DLL under winlogon click on the OK button.
Now double-click on explorer.exe, select the Threads tab, and again click once on each instance of awvtt.dll. Once they are highlighted click on the Kill button like you did in step 8. If you have disabled the BHO (O2) in some manner, you will not find this dll listed in this step and can move on.
When this is done, click on the OK button again.
Now run HijackThis again, close all windows, and press the Scan button.
Place a check next to each of the following entries:
Once all the entries are checked,(make sure all other windows are closed) press the Fix button and then exit HijackThis.
Now double-click on the FixVundo.reg file that you downloaded earlier and allow it to merge the information.
Double-click on Killbox.exe that you downloaded and extracted earlier. Select the delete on reboot option. Then enter the full path to the DLL into the file to delete field by copying and pasting the
following: C:\WINDOWS\system32\awvtt.dll
Click the red circle with the white X and select Yes to the delete prompt and then Yes to reboot now.

when i started my computer back up in normal mode windows defender came up with this message.

also when i ran bit defender it found an infected file it couldnt delete byxuuvw.dll, I saw that file name in the explorer section of process explorer. Here is the avg anti spyware log.

Right-click My Computer
Click Properties -->Hardware --> Device Manager
On the toolbar menu, click View--> Show Hidden devices.
Double-click Non-Plug and Play Drivers
Do you see an entry named DP1112 in the list of drivers? If so, you have a rootkit. If not, your windows defender has been the problem with our attempts at trying to remove your problem.
OK...then it has indeed been the Windows Defender that you have allowed to interfere with the fix.
Make sure your Norton Script Blocking and Windows Defender are disabled as per the instructions from my post #10.
Then, proceed from here:
Making sure you have downloaded the FixVundo.reg to your Desktop from the instructions in the previous post...
Do not run the FixVundo.reg file now. We will use it later.
* Reboot your computer into Safe Mode.
* Double-click on procexp.exe (that's the Process Explorer that

Download and run CWShredder.
Launch the executable, accept the agreement, and then click " Check for Update"
Download and install any updates.
Now, close any open windows except for CWShredder and then click " Fix"
You'll see three lines starting with "Restoring" to let you know the scan is finished (It should take about a minute to run), then click " Next"
Please reboot the computer.
Open your on board AVG Anti-Spyware and run a manual update. DO NOT SCAN YET.
Now...let's get rid of that stubborn Vundo trojan.
- Print out these instructions as we will need to shutdown every open window later in the fix.
- Please download Process Explorer by Systernals and extract it to your desktop. Do not run this now as we will use it later.
- Download KillBox and extract it to your desktop. Do not run this now as we will
- use it later.
- Click
- Here to download FixVundo.reg to your Desktop. Do not run this now as we will use it later.
- Reboot your computer into Safe Mode. You do that when you restart your computer by tapping on the F8 key repeatedly as soon as you see the first black screen. Continue tapping on the F8 key until you see the advance log on menu. When the menu appears, select "safe Mode" (Note-if tapping on the F8 key does not bring up the advance log on menu then try the reboot again only this time begin tapping on the F5 key and follow the instructions as outlined above.)
- Double-click on procexp.exe which is the Process Explorer that
- we downloaded earlier.
- In the top section of the Process Explorer screen double-click on
- winlogon.exe to bring up the winlogon.exe properties screen.
- Once you see this screen click on each instance of awvtt.dll found and click on the kill button. If you see any files listed that are the same name but end with .bak or .ini or are the name in reverse, you can kill those as well. (it would look like this: ttvwa.dll)
- After you have killed all of the instances of the DLL under winlogon click on the OK button.
- Now double-click on explorer.exe, select the Threads tab, and again click once on each instance of awvtt.dll. Once they are highlighted click on the Kill button like you did in step 8. If you have disabled the BHO (O2) in some manner, you will not find this dll listed in this step and can move on.
- When this is done, click on the OK button again.
- Now run HijackThis again, close all windows, and press the Scan button.
- Place a check next to each of the following entries:
- Once all the entries are checked,(make sure all other windows are closed) press the Fix button and then exit HijackThis.
- Now double-click on the FixVundo.reg file that you downloaded earlier and allow it to merge the information.
- Double-click on Killbox.exe that you downloaded and extracted earlier. Select the delete on reboot option. Then enter the full path to the DLL into the file to delete field by copying and pasting the
- following:
- Click the red circle with the white X and select Yes to the delete prompt and then Yes to reboot now.
When your computer comes back up, visit at least two of these web sites and run a full system scan:Click on the Threads tab at the top.

Right-click My Computer
Click Properties -->Hardware --> Device Manager
On the toolbar menu, click View--> Show Hidden devices.
Double-click Non-Plug and Play Drivers
Do you see an entry named DP1112 in the list of drivers? If so, you have a rootkit. If not, your windows defender has been the problem with our attempts at trying to remove your problem.

Make sure your Norton Script Blocking and Windows Defender are disabled as per the instructions from my post #10.
Then, proceed from here:
Making sure you have downloaded the FixVundo.reg to your Desktop from the instructions in the previous post...
Do not run the FixVundo.reg file now. We will use it later.
* Reboot your computer into Safe Mode.
* Double-click on procexp.exe (that's the Process Explorer that
we downloaded earlier).
* In the top section of the Process Explorer screen double-click on
winlogon.exe to bring up the winlogon.exe properties screen.
Click on the Threads tab at the top.
* Once you see this screen click on each instance of mljjk.dll found and click on the kill button. If you see any files listed that are the same name but end with .bak or .ini or are the name in reverse, you can kill those as well. (it would look like this: kjjlm.dll)
* After you have killed all of the instances of the DLL under winlogon click on the OK button.
* Now double-click on explorer.exe, select the Threads tab, and again click once on each instance of mljjk.dll. Once they are highlighted click on the Kill button like you did in step 8.
* When this is done, click on the OK button again.
* Now run HijackThis again, close all windows, and press the Scan button.
* Place a check next to each of the following entries:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {239989AA-53DD-43C9-A221-7663FC8DF428} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mljjk.dll
O20 - Winlogon Notify: mljjk - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mljjk.dll
* Once the entries are checked,(make sure all other windows are closed) press the "Fix Checked" button and then exit HijackThis.
* Now double-click on the FixVundo.reg file that you downloaded earlier and allow it to merge the information.
* Double-click on Killbox.exe that you downloaded and extracted earlier. Select the delete on reboot option. Then enter the full path to the DLL into the file to delete field by copying and pasting the
following:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mljjk.dll
C:\Windows\System32\byxuuvw.dll
C:\Windows\byxuuvw.dll
Note: Killbox will let you know if a file does not exist.
* Click the red circle with the white X and select Yes to the delete prompt and then Yes to reboot now.
When your computer comes back up, Post a fresh HijackThis log. Thanks!
