PS2 doesn't look well on my 2407 thru component. Especially for 480i games - they look soooo ugly... I bet it's mainly because of the graphics from PS2, but it seems partly from the 2407 side. You will notice ugly vertical distortions if you strech the screen, no matter full or aspect. 480p or 1080i games look better (God of War, GT4 and Shadow of Colossus), but after all, it's PS2... so bad graphics always won by it.

Just an addition - PS3 works well with 2407 via DVI-HDMI adapter. But the annoying problem about streching 1080p picture seems unresolvable. Sigh...

Yeah that's what I was kind of worried about, 480i stuff looking bad. I know it's inevitable in hd resolutions, but I'd still hope there were screens out there that can at least make them decent looking. How much better would you say 480p games are over 480i (in PS2)? How is the blurring/ghosting comparison?

That'd be awesome if you could take a game with 480p option, and maybe take a screenshot of it in both 480i and 480p :)

You can definitely tell a 480i or 1080i signal from its flickering upper and lower border. And the graphics looks not as "solid" as the progressive ones for sure. That's the biggest problem you may notice. I can tell you progressive graphics can give you much better experience on 2407, so try your best to turn on progressive on all the possible game! :D

You can get a progressive output TV box to convert all the game into progressive, from component to VGA output. This way the graphics is enhanced.

Or maybe you want to try some 3rd party PS2 application that can convert all PS2 games into 480p - this may be another ultimate solution for you.

I can show you some screenshots if I have time tonight. :)

So far, have you bought and decided what to buy, yet?

I have the same questions:

I am looking forward to buy a 2408wfp or 2709w.

I wonder if there is any picture quality problem watching standard TV content 4:3, DVD movies at 480i/p and also bad picture scale for Wii console using the component or composite video sources.

Does it have really a bad input lag? Does the image "blur", "judge" or even scale properly? What is your impression? Would you like to share you experience?

Could you please post me some pictures of it?

Thak you
