Hi, just got my 2407WFP 2 weeks ago. No visible dead/stuck pixels (phew!)
But still, the 1080p picture I get from my PS3 via HDMI to DVI adapter is streched vertically.
* The 2407 will not do 1920x1080. It will do 1920x1200 so it will always be stretched using 1080p.
I read about A00 being able to have pixel to pixel support for 1080p before, but that was removed for some sort of unknown reason.
* No idea.
I wonder if Dell can have it back sometime later with a firmware update? As an advanced user, I think I should be able to upgrade the firmware on my own with proper instructions.
* No. We do not want customers flashing a monitor bios.
Also, it seems mine doesn't remember the aspect settings. Like when it's running under 720p, I will always have to change it from "Fill" to "Aspect" in the menu, which is a bit frustrating. Any idea on resolving this problem, please?
* Currently, no fix for this.
P.S. How do you tell which rev is the monitor? I mean A00, A01 and etc.
Mine was listed on the
label.
So what you are basically saying is "We know our product is bugged, but we don't plan to fix it even it's possible via firmware update. But thanks for the money !"
I'm writing this post on my new 2407 monitor and it would be a killer screen if those bugs were fixed.
I have read and seen so many bad reviews about component inputs that I don't even want to try my friend's new xbox 360 on it. It's kind of paradoxal.
And a software who could tell the monitor which format to adopt for each game would be terrific too (there is usb on this monitor, use it)
Is the Rev A04 who would fix these bugs even planned ? (and not a translation fix this time please)
