Inspirion 6000 charging issues

Question

I took out my battery to check to see if it was one of the batteries that needed to be recalled. Once i saw that it was fine, i put it back and turned it back on. However, when the battery was in, it would no longer charge when plugged in. can someone help me out? do you think it's a faulty battery or faulty power cord? thanks!!

try cleaning the contacts

what are the contacts?

The ones that connect the battery with the laptop. They can get corrosion on them.
