I don't know what video card you ordered, I have the 7900GS it has (2) DVI connectors and no VGA connector. Dell did supply a DVI to VGA adapter, So I guess you can use your old monitor if it's VGA. and if it's DVI your good to go without using the adapter. I hope this helps. Tele2

I ordered the 7900GS too. How do I find out if my monitor is VGA or DVI?

no worries. even tho the 7900GS has two DVI connectors, it'll come with a DVI-VGA adapter.
 
yes you can use the old monitor on the 7900GS.
