Can I use windex to clean a LCD?

You don't really want to use windex or any other product that contains Amonia or other chemical that eat away at surfaces. Take a look at the monitor cleaning FAQ at the top of the monitor forum page. I use only a soft damp cloth to clean my LCD screen.

Jesse L., the question was about the 1703FPT and your answer was for a different monitor, the 1703FPS, NOT the 1703FPT.

BTW: Is there an equivalent document for the 1703FPT?  I just placed an order for a monitor with DELL and it looks like DELL chose the 1703FPT for me, not the 1703FPS.  It also looks like there are more problems with the 1703FPT than with the 1703FPS.   The 'S' designator refers to Samsung as the manufacturer and the 'T' designator refers to LITE-ON manufacturer, whatever that is. 

Since shipment is delayed, I wonder if I can specifiy the Samsung version instead of the Lite-On version.  I'm also curious as to the differences, if any. 

Perhaps there is a better forumin which  to ask these questions?
