Inspiron B130 notebook/Dell Wireless 1750 Problem

Question

Someone please help, I had a virus on my computer in which I had read many posts on how to get rid of it, using HiJackThis. I had my brother run it for me, and it came up with a list of 57 things that could be deleted. Since nothing looked familiar he didn't delete anything, instead he chose to reformat, reinstalling XP with my Dell Win XP Pro Setup disk. Well that went smoothly, being able to access the Internet through the Internet, but for some reason when I got it home, my Dell wireless card was not detected and couldn't get it to detect. I logged on here at a friend's and thought I found the answer with these: How do I determine which utility is managing my wireless connection? & How do I connect to a wireless network using the Dell Wireless Utility? both found on this forum. I printed them and tried to follow them, but it seemed I was going in circles and never resolved the problem. Since I received my Inspiron I was under the impression my card would detect any wireless network. Was there certain drivers I needed to install? Did my brother, setting up the ethernet connection, somehow by-pass the wireless settings? And if so, how do I get them back? Thank you very much in advance, rrbaggs

After reinstalling Windows all drivers need to be installed.  It is absolutely essential that the Notebook System Software and the chipset drivers be installed before even attempting to install any other device drivers.  All drivers for your system can be found at:   http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/devices.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&SystemID=INSPIRON1300/B130&os=WW1&osl=EN   Note that you will need to know whether you have a Dell wireless network adapter or an Intel wireless network adapter in order to download the correct drivers for your system.
