2407WFP and dual-link dvi

Question

I have a new 2407WFP and the eVGA Geforce 8800 card. The monitor works fine at all resolutions with vga input, but with my single-link dvi cable i don't get any signal. could it be that I need a dual-link dvi cable to get this to work ? the DVI input on the monitor doesn't appear to pick up a signal when I either * have both vga and dvi cables hooked up (my card has two dvi outs) * have the dvi connected on both ends.

I too have a brand new 2407 and evga 8800GTS.    Dumb question, but have you rebooted the machine with just the DVI cable plugged in?  Sometimes I've had the 2407 not show the POST screen or XP splash screen, and not light up until the actual XP login screen.  Maybe give it a couple minutes to make sure windows has finished booting.

1st make sure you're only connecting the DVI cable and #2 make sure the 24 inch is set to accept DVI / dig signal on the front of the monitor!! Did we do this yet?

Yes, I've tried using only the dvi cable and switching the dvi input on the front. makes no difference. I haven't tried rebooting though. (i'm running ubuntu, not xp)

I've had a similar problem using a DVI splitter (same display on two monitors) on a nVidia video card but it works fine in an ATI video card... does this help your troubleshooting?
