The subject pretty much explains it all. I just bought a new printer for my Dimension 4600 and after installing it, all of my USB ports go down. Everything I put into them aren't recognized. The only thing that's plugged in and works are the mouse and keyboard. I've tried rebooting a few times and even going as far as reformatting. It seems like the printer is causing all of this, but when I tried it on my newer XPS410, everything is fine. So what I'm wondering is how can I get my USB ports on the 4600 working again and why did this happen. Thanks in advance for anyone who helps.
If the back of your computer USB port configuration looks like this:
U E
U U
U U
Whre U=USB and E=Ethernet Lan
Try this:
M E
U K
U P
Where U=open USB port, M=USB mouse, K=USB keyboard, P=printer, E=Ehternet Lan
