D800 'base system device' conflict in Device Manager.....

Question

I have a D800 which I had to install a new hard drive in. I reinstalled Windows XP Pro from the renistallation disk that was provided when I bought my computer (refurbished)......I had a host of conflict errors on the Device Manager....which I seem to have resolved all but one....and I am totally at a loss as to what it is....it keeps saying there is a conflict with 'other'...and then 'base system device'......I have searched and searched and can not figure out what the 'base system device' is that is having the conflict......I have searched the drivers area for the D800 here...and see nothing of that nature....any help would be greatly appreciated!.....

Chipset...no....I will try that now.....and help me out with where I find the notebook system software??......

Just did the chipset....still have the conflict....and get the box when I restart 'new hardware found'......and I don't know which driver to install with it....since I don't know what it is calling for??

INSPIRON E1405, still same problem mentioned  by photo 107 however my system is a different one.   I have installed the chipset and notebook system software, base system device shows up 4 times in the device manager, no of my cards (SD-MS,ETC) will be detected whe put.   I appreciate if I get some help regards, Luiz

hi luis i had the same problem with my e1405 laptop download both drivers, the mobile chipset and the ricoh and it work
