My experience shows that playing consoles on the 2407 is mildly problematic at best. Fortunately in the case of N64, console emulation has come a long way. If your PC is decent (basically, if you have a 3d card made in the last 4 years or so), you can play your games in very high resolution. The 3d effects will look much better than they do on the console itself. The only trouble is hooking up controllers, but there are usb converters that will allow you to hook up either N64 or playstation 2 controllers to your pc. You can get these pretty cheap off ebay. I haven't tried the N64 ones, but I can highly recommend the playstation converters. I've played a fair amount of mario kart 64 on my pc with 3 other friends at 1600 x 1200 resolution using 4 playstation 2 controllers, and in my opinion it is a much better experience than even playing on the N64 is.
