I got my HC in January 07 (like the first week of Jan). It was a pain getting it. I first had a 3007 but it had a dead pixels and I needed to return it. I upgraded to the HC since I'm a graphic designer and thought I would benifit from the HC's specs. So for a day I actually had the 3007 and the HC side by side. Here's my take: 1. Other than the box, there is no way of telling that you have the HC model unless I just missed something. 2. I've not had any issues with the HC other than the dell drivers. In XP, the driver displays the HC designation. In Vista, the driver displays only 3007. So, I'm still unsure that it has the right driver installed, although dell support on this forum insures me that I do. 3. I do a lot of 2D graphic design work, and do notice greater saturation of colors with the HC. But probably not enough to warrant the extra cost. 4. I'm not a gamer, so I can't comment on pixel response times. I do use it for movies and have been pleased. But then the 3007 was fine too. Maybe I'm not getting the most out of the display? I'm happy, but would be just as happy with the 3007.

Here's an update to my last message. If you are considering the 3007wfp-hc, it will only run on XP and not Vista. The 3007wfp-hc software will not run on Vista. The HC drivers run sporatically. After a day of trying to get the drivers to work with Vista, I talked with tech support at Dell and said that it's a Vista issue and will hopefully be fixed with Microsoft Service Pack 1 for Vista.

I'm very disappointed with Dell. They have made a promise about Dell's Vista hardware compatibility and cannot deliver.

Clarification to the above post, the 3007WFP-HC will and does run on Vista. What gives problems is the pseudo On-screen display for brightness (software), and occasionally the older Nvidia Drivers (for 2560x1600).

As far as side by side comparison with the non-HC, I would say the color differences could be subtle (in blue heavy scenes especially), but having seen the Reds and Greens of the HC, I wouldn't buy the non-HC.

Besides all these comparisons are kinda moot, since the non-HC has dissappeared from the website, and will probably not be available for purchase over the phone for much longer either...
