Dude....so you smacked it one, took it apart and you don't want to mess anything up because you don't know what you're doing. I'd take it to a repair centre and put this down as a learning experience..... Please write 100 times. 'I shall not hit computers because they will break'. Not very useful..I know.
If you don't have anything that will help me, then don't bother responding. No one likes a smart aleck. This is for people who need help and are willing to help. You are neither.
Ok Dude...sorry. If a knock has caused the screen malfunction I would suggest looking at the video chip / maybe a loose wire/connection. I would highly recommend you take the machine to be serviced though. RE: urgent work to be done. I can only suggest two things:- 1.Take out the hard drive and place it in a caddy. Use this to access the files via another computer...if possible. 2. Rig up an external monitor and have your primary image on that. Hope that helps a bit.
Thank you for that. I just hooked my laptop up to an external monitor and ran the diagnostics test, and the LCD connection test failed, which suggests a loose or disconnected cable. I just have to figure out which cable it is and take it apart. I'm looking up manuals on here so I can do it. Thanks for your help, though.
