You purchased the Intel Video, which is built into your motherboard.  It cannot be upgraded.  Since you have only had the machine a week, I suggest you contact Customer Service...tell them that you are totally dissatisfied and want to upgrade to the ATI x1400.  Perhaps they will let you do it...may cost you the difference...won't hurt to try.  Maybe others will have other ideas...

If this laptop will be used primarily for gaming, get an E1705 with one of the Nvidia card options. The E1505 w/X1400 is only satisfactory if you're playing older games and/or are ok with playing games at low settings.

Thank you for the replies, what got me concerned was when watching a dvd.. The edges of the screen had that washed out look, like ther wasn't enough memory.Otherwise this is a great notebook. It just seems knid of lame that you can't upgrade the video in a $1000 computer.
