Here is a link to the user manuals for these two cards (they are at the bottom).

Thanks. But following your link, I can only find the specifications for the 355 module but no detail about the 350 module except the general user guide without specifications of the module.

The 350 is just above the 355.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I do know the link for 350 is just above 355 and did click and checked it out and what I downloaded is a general bluetooth help file which doesn't even mention "350 module" at all! However, after clicking the link for 355 and choosing the language, it gave a sort of menu and I can then click "specification" to see like technical information about the BT 355 module.

Thanks for letting me know I'll see what I can do about getting the link updated. As far as the 350 and 355 although the 355 is the newer of the two they are similar. The manual for the 355 is similar and perhaps you can find what you need there in the mean time.

Gina Q - If the 355 is the newer version of the previous Bluetooth card, is this card capable of being installed in a D610 running WinXP Pro?  This system does not currently have BT.

I've search through a number of postings and I've seen one reference that indicates the 355 cannot be used in the Latitude series laptops.  If I need Bluetooth on a D610 my only choice is the 350 device.

If it's a USB device, I don't see what the issue is.

Can you confirm this one way or the other please, and perhaps provide some background if possible?

I did some more checking and found that the BT355 is for Inspirons while the BT350 is for Latitudes. The BT is considered a customer replaceable part and can be installed by you in this system.

I just installed a 355 in my D610. So far it's working without problems with a BT mouse. I'm going to try a headset, but I can't find mine right now.

I have just received my Inspiron 9400 with a 350 module, not a 355. Will this cause any problems? Thanks :-)

No on the earlier Inspirons the 350 was sold. You'll be fine.
