Deleted keyboard lowerfilter registry key, now can't reinstall (Inspiron 6000)

Question

Ok, really reaching here. Inspiron 6000, XP Home, was in the registry fixing an issue with the cdrom involving upperfilters/lowerfilters and mistakenly also deleted those keys under the keyboard entry (I only think there was lowerfilter key). The keyboard now does not work in XP (it does during POST) and it says under Keyboards in Device Manager that the device cannot start (Code 10). I've tried uninstalling it - no joy. Not sure how to completely remove it from the registry, or if that will matter. After uninstalling, I tried to force the reinstall and it failed, saying, 'Cannot install this hardware.' Checking further, I see a memory address conflict between the mouse and keyboard: Mouse: I/O 0060-0060 and 0064-0064 IRQ 12 Keybd: I/O 0060-0060 and 0064-0064 also 0062-0062 0066-0066 IRQ 01 And the settings are 'use automatic' and greyed out. I am logged in as an administrator. I tried uninstalling the mouse, it comes back in and works fine, but it swipes the memory address first somehow, angering the keyboard. If I touch the keyboard once XP starts the system will hang. I don't have a backup of the registry (of course) and System Restore was turned off because I was killing malware. Please don't say 'format & reinstall,' I already know that's my last option. I have a neighbor with (I think) the same laptop and I was thinking I could export the registry key(s) in question and load them here. If that fails, I'm off to reinstall land ... unless someone has a better idea! I'd be thrilled if someone wanted to export the key in question and email me the .reg file. The keys are: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Current­ ­ ControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} For the mouse and keyboard. Thanks in advance, -kj-

I pulled the registry setting out of another 6000 and I'm good to go.
