I'm encountering the same problem with my home network.  I installed the printer downstairs in my office, but have a computer in my family room upstairs for the kids to use.  They print on the 966, but now thier DELL is throwing the same error.  Can any one help with this please???

I have tracked my problem down to what i think si the status monitor.
When my laptop is not in the same building it cannot, of course connect with the printer.
Yours appears to be slightly different.
Is your computer and the kids on a wirless network? is the network dropping?
I solved my problem by using startup inspector (free down load) and found the following ran at startup
DLCQCATS; DLPSP; dlcqmon.exe.
I set all these not to run at startup at it cured the problem.
What I can not recall is if I tried to print after I solved the problem - Am on a business trip to China at the moment and the brain is suffering.
Anyway if printing does not work, reinstate each one in turn starting with DLCQCATS, then DLPSP.
I thing dlcqmon.exe is the real problem and I suspect it it is a status monitor which checks the communication with the printer.
Also I suggest you first of all download the latest driver from Dell, then remove the current one. switch of all firewalls and anitvirus (make sure you are disconnected from the internet) and then do a complete re-install on all computers with the latest drivers.
Basically that is what i did before using startup inspector and disabling those bits that were Dell printer specific in the startup.
Hope this helps.
You can try Dell support, but all the best if you do. I found them of no use and even worse on a new laptop problem we had. Looks like it is goodbye Dell when we do the next kit replacement!!

I get a message saying dlcqcoms.exe has accessed bad memory every time I start my computer.  I've also had problems being able to print to the 966 wirelessly.
