I just bought a dimension E521 and 22in digital monitor....

Question

I just bought a dimension E521 and 22in digital monitor. the monitor in the printed catalog says1920 X1200 pixels. the monitor I received has 1680 X150 pixels. does anyone else have a problem with this? Also My pc bundled with this digital monitor has no dvi port. tech told me to get a converter. I did and it didnt work. seems to me you cannot get a dvi signal out of an analog plug? why are my products incompatable? can any one help me

Something maybe wrong with the converter. You can return a computer to Dell within 21 day of the invoice date. You may have to pay a restocking fee. I guess you have the E228WFP.
The maximum resolution is 1680x1050.

If you don't have a DVI output on the PC, you'll have to use the analog VGA connection. DVI to VGA converters work that way only - not VGA to DVI.
