DMI support for Intel Pro1000/MT nic on Optiplex GX260/270

Is there DMI support for the Intel Pro1000/MT nic on Optiplex GX260's and GX270's?  We currently have a host of other machines with 3Com nic's running the Dell DMI service, and I can see them in IT Assistant, but our GX260's and 270's (which have Intel nic's) can't be seen.  I saw one posting on this site that outlined the steps for using WMI/CIM using an NT domain.  Is there no other alternative?  We don't have a domain, but we also don't want to give the guest account the extra access it would need.  Why can't I find a DMI agent for the Intel nic's?
