Thank you, ChrisM.  Two more questions, please:

While the recommended (and maximum) distance of the 2407's bottom edge from the bottom of the monitor's stand = 4.75 inches ... Would there be any issues in maintaining the monitor at its lowest monitor-stand position?

I ask, because my computer desk's shelf-clearance above the desktop is 17.25 inches.  Would I be able to mount the monitor on its stand, so that the 2.25 inch-clearance of bottom monitor edge above desk ... plus 14.5 inch height of the 2407 surface ... will permit me to keep the monitor underneath the 17.25 clearance of the desk's shelves.

While on paper, it would appear that there would be (17.25" - 16.75") half an inch of room to spare, it would help to get assurance of being able to tuck this large monitor under my 17.25 inch shelves.  To play the devil's advocate on my side, I suppose I could angle the monitor for eye-comfort by a couple of degrees (bottom edge closer to me), which would lower the total height of the monitor+stand a teeny-tiny amount.

Thanks ChrisM.  I believe I read in a brief bio that you provided that you are currently using a 2407 monitor.  Could you measure yours at its lowest position, to determine the minimum height of your untilted (90 degree angle to desk) monitor on stand , and would your 2407 monitor fit underneath desk shelves that have a 17.25 clearance?

I ask to determine if the 2407 monitor on stand will fit underneath desk shelves that have a 17.25 inch clearance.

SteveRad,

At the lowest setting with the soundbar removed, the bottom of the monitor 1 1/8 inches from the table. It is 15 1/5 inches from the table to the top of the monitor.

Thanks again, ChrisM.  That is very useful information.  Looks I'll be enjoying a Dell 2407 (HC?) in a few months.  - Steve
