First you have to install your normal sound card drivers, the Audigy software is just that, software. It will not make your sound card work. Look on Dell's support site under drivers and downloads for you laptop, then download the audio driver for Vista. There should also be an update for the Audigy software. If not here is a link, not sure if it will work or not. http://support.us.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R154230&formatcnt=1&libid=0&fileid=206071 Upgrade for Integrated Sound Blaster Audigy ADVANCED HD Audio XP to Vista.exe You will need the activation key for your sound card.

the key is on your CD case that came with your laptop. but don't use the CD because its Vista only drivers. you need to make sure to use the download from dell's website. just look up your laptop under the drivers section. Also, Sigmatel drivers, reboot, then install the audigy software. It definitely works I have it loaded right now. I did have to contact Creative to get a new key though for the software as the one I had was used too many times during reinstalls of the OS. To be honest its just silly software and I haven't noticed any improvement in performance or fixes for the stutter issue.

Didn't work for me.

I removed the Sigmatel drivers then reinstalled them. I installed the Audigy software and it still errors with no drivers found and the audigy install bails out from there.

Oh yea... I wasted 20 bucks for the avtivation code from creative...... but I would still like to see it work since my system came from Dell with that option.

mindouglas... I wish mine would work. I did the Sigmatel drivers from the Dell site, rebooted and installed the Audigy software and only get "drivers not load" error......

well it took them 4 months to get the update for Vista, so I'm guessing it will be a while. to be honest, its just software, I know there's the principal, u paid $20. But it isn't that great, I will never buy any silly things like that again. I don't even use it now.
