Go into your ATI control panel and under Options, select "Reduce DVI frequency on high resolution displays".  This should fix the probelm.

Hi, I have the same problem and after expending more than 6 hours with tech support, I believe you have the solution to this situacion, But when I look for ATI control panel , can't locate it. only through search andstill can't have it open. Pease help me I'm sure, thanks to you guys, am close to solve this problem.

The ATI control panel is in the Display Options.  Easiest way to get to it is to right click your desktop and pick properties.  Then go to the settings tab and click the advanced button.  If you have the catalyst drivers installed, you should see the options tab that was referred to in the previous post.

I woke up this morning with the intention to return my 2001 fp, but after making the changes suggested by you and for the fist time since I got my 2001fp found NO distortion on the monitor. THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!***** DELL TECH SUPPORT should learn from this forum before answering any call.... Thanks
