New Inspiron models June-July 2007?

Question

I just chatted with Dell's pre-sales support in Sweden. When I asked about any new 6400 sized models in the pipe, he wrote that he had heard about 'some new Inspiron models due this summer'. Does anyone have any more solid evidence or info on models etc?   I was going to order a 6400 today but now I feel that I might as well wait 1-2 months. I can see that there are three new Latitude models launched just recently but nothing on the 6400 or 9400 front. The 6400 and 9400 models have been around for quite some time now though.   Thanks for any and all input!

It's pretty much certain that the existing models are due for replacement. No doubt capacity at Intel for the new chipsets is constrained for now, so Dell has released the business models, which account for 90% of its sales, first. The consumer models (Inspirons) will no doubt arrive shortly.

I'm tired of waiting....   Dell is supposed to release a new Inspiron model with the latest Santa Rosa CPU   The only thing I heard is that it's going to be in June......   Does anyone have a better info ???

Maybe after this Memorial Day Big Sales Event   They have to sell off the existing stocks during this big sales.

I just got an email from Dell Sweden with lowered prices on all Inspiron models. Hope that is a good sign that new models are out soon. I was hoping before vacation in three weeks but have given up that thought.

The new entries in the Inspiron line include the 1520, 1521, 1720, and 1721, each of which pack either 15.4-inch or 17-inch displays, and boast either Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Turion 64 X2 processors. The Vostro models on the other hand, appear to be Intel-only (at least from what's been revealed so far), with the Vostro 1500 coming equipped with a 15.4-inch display and the Vostro 1700 upping things to a 17-inch screen. Unfortunately, those are about all the specs that are known at the moment, although it doesn't look like we'll have to wait long to find out more, as all but one of the laptops are reportedly set to be released on June 26th, with the Vostro 1700 following later in July. Update: The laptop above is a new Inspiron, not a Vostro. Those, apparently, are all black.

There are tons of info out there + pictures if you Google for "dell 1520 1521" for instance. Seems like there is a release date June 26th. Will be very interesting!

From what I can see there is now a built in webcam and possibly IrDA + nicer looking machines even though not top notch. Still grey painted plastic on the palm rests which is a bit annoying for me - afraid it will wear off (there is a post of an ugly looking palm rest on this board). I have yet to confirm there is a built in microphone. Then it would be everything I wanted.
