It is not what I thought, as it only occurs with W98. Sorry. If it is operating OK, i would not be concerned

Well, it was a Windows 98 a one time.  Then upgraded to Windows 2000 before I bought it.  What is your opinion because I am running out.

Sometimes when you (or another person) runs W2000, W-XP or W-Me (all ACPI OS's) as an upgrade from W98 (an APM System when installed on Dell laptops), weird things happen. For this reason, I never run an OS installation as an upgrade. Even with an Upgrade CD, you can do a clean install, as long as you have an older OS qualifying CD to use as a "kicker", and which can be put into the CD Drive when prompted by the Setup for it to scan. I would watch and wait, and if more problems with drivers, weird popups, etc. continue to occur, then consider doing a clean install of W2000
